You know what irks me when I'm stuck in the rush hour jam - may it be in the morning or in the evening? The fact that us "the rakyat" can get up early to leave the house early so that we get to work on time, while all the politicians, members of parliament and royalty, just cut queues because the have the liberty of the entire police force at their mercy.
Countless times have I seen traffic policemen or police outriders shunting motorists aside so as to clear a path for the VIP.
I would gladly give way to an ambulance or a fire truck as this would mean saving lives but why do these VIPs think they deserve this kind of treatment when all they're doing is having a session under a tree?
Shouldnt they, as the voice of democracy, get stuck in traffic jams, experience it first hand, find out the root cause (like flash floods etc) and do something about it?
